04 Jun PRESS RELEASE: DoughGetters announces business merger
New Virtual Admin company set to change the way Entrepreneurs and business do admin
The virtual admin field has boomed over the past 18 months. Virtual Assistants – as the name suggests – work remotely, providing a range of professional administrative services to clients via the digital realm. As businesses move ever more online and into a virtual world, the demand for virtual assistants is growing. While the global pandemic definitely had a role in accelerating the process, the move toward a more decentralised system was already becoming popular among discerning entrepreneurs and business owners well before 2020.
DoughGetters – a pioneering, disruptive and award-winning digital accounting business – recently broadened its service-delivery portfolio by adding a business admin arm through an amalgamation with the company Virtual Admin, to form DoughGetters Admin.
According to Willem Haarhoff – who founded DoughGetters with Murray Barnetson four years ago – the merger was the natural next step in their strive to help business owners and entrepreneurs ‘win back lost time,’ so that they can have successful business concerns and pursue healthy and worthwhile lives.
“Virtual assistants fulfil crucial admin functions from remote locations,” Haarhoff said. “Our accounting services are in the cloud and rely heavily on technology and now we are able to offer DoughGetters franchisees and clients even more solutions – from anywhere, to anywhere. It’s a real value-add for our clients.”
“Often accountants do perform these tasks, but to the detriment…”
The need for an admin arm to DoughGetters stems from the big misconception in the market about the scope of work of accountants. Many clients take it for granted that accounting services includes doing things such as CICP (company registrations) changing company details, arranging UIF and liaising with SARS, among a host of others. Often accountants do perform these tasks, but to the detriment of their actual strengths and accounting service delivery because of the time input.
“We want to create processes that flow and are really focussed in every discipline,” Haarhoff added. “These admin tasks tend to disrupt the daily routine – it is stuff that you cannot really predict. The kind of business we want to build as DoughGetters, is an accounting tech business and one of the requirements of that is to be hyper process orientated, which means we can’t have our bookkeepers’ normal process flow being interrupted.”
“…to be super efficient they need to create workflows and predictable routines.”
DoughGetters Admin will negate all of this and allow the core group of accounting bookkeepers prioritise the tasks most crucial to their service delivery. “For them to be super efficient they need to create workflows and predictable routines. Now we can provide those other services to the highest standard, but without a major disruption in our core processes.”
According to Haarhoff, the key to a premium remote service lies in an exceptional customer experience. “At DoughGetters we have always tried to differentiate ourselves from the rest by making the process of consumer engagement as smooth and easy as possible,” he said.
“In addition, we ensure that the quality of people we put in front of the client are all highly qualified and experienced.”
This people-centric philosophy was then of course crucial in the merger. “When two groups of people – two companies – come together under one umbrella there needs to be serious chemistry… Philosophies need to be well aligned about work, service offerings and client interaction,” he said. “More importantly, they need to share your vision when it comes to company culture, we found a group of people like that in Sanet van Heerden and her team at Virtual Admin.”
“When I first met Willem I was so impressed with the way DoughGetters does business,” Van Heerden said. “So, working together is a wonderful opportunity for us.”
“We’re excited to join such a dynamic group of people who share our remote-working philosophies and, to have access to the digital systems, apps and workflow solutions they have in place. These will change our way of operating and help us become even more productive, this of course is very positive for our existing clients.”
“This means a lot to us because we can now grow our team and create more jobs and give more people the opportunity to work in the virtual environment,”
According to Van Heerden there is near unlimited scope for growth with DoughGetters Admin as her and her team will not only service their existing clients but also work with DoughGetters franchises on compliance and other admin related tasks and offer a range of services to DoughGetters clients. “This means a lot to us because we can now grow our team and create more jobs and give more people the opportunity to work in the virtual environment,” she said.
“…together we can reach great heights and be the go-to team to help business owners work ‘on’ and not ‘in’ their businesses”
“DoughGetters now has a dedicated admin team to supply support on all levels, together we can reach great heights and be the go-to team to help business owners work ‘on’ and not ‘in’ their businesses,” she concluded.
